Satyapon Sachdecha, attorney-at-law, is the founding partner and Managing Director of Satyapon & Partners Limited since 1995. He has practised exclusively in the area of intellectual property law and involved with enforcement of intellectual property rights with world-class clients for over 27 years. He been recognized by several international publications as “a leading IP expert of Thailand”. Satyapon has served as President of the Intellectual Property Association of Thailand since 2009 and was appointed by the Thai Cabinet to be a Member of the Trademark Board to decide appeals under the Trademarks Act B.E. 2534 (1991) for 2 terms (2000-2004 and 2008-2012). He contributed to several amendments to intellectual property laws in the country and was appointed by the government as a committee member to review proposed amendments to the Trademarks Act and Copyright Act.
Satyapon has taught a number of undergraduate and postgraduate courses on intellectual property law at Thammasat University as an adjunct professor for more than a decade. He received his LL.B. from Thammasat University, LL.M. from the University of Miami School of Law, M.C.L. from George Washington University Law School and Certificate of Intensive Course on European Industrial Property from the Universite Robert Schuman Centre D’Etudes Internationales de la Propriete Industrielle (CIPI). Satyapon was awarded an LL.D. (honoris causa) from Dhurakij Pundit University for his substantial contribution to the foundation and development of intellectual property law both in practice and academia in Thailand.
